To save a Word 2007 document also known as a docx to a Word 97 - 2003 document (doc), click the "Office Button" when you are ready to save the document.

A box will pop up asking you to give your file a name. Enter in a file name and then click "save".

That's all there is to it.  Your document is now saved as a Word 97-2003 Document.
